Early start, but arrived to NO WIND after it'd been blowing dogs off chains all night long !!
Along with the crowds, the wind started to come back, but it proved to be a gusty session with it switching cross-off to cross-shore and being pretty up and down strength wise.
Rigged big to be able to get out, and I do tend to rig bigger when it's a little offshore at this time of year. Had a comedy moment when taking a little jump my outhaul let go and the result was an impromtu loop attempt, sans board ... aka catapult. It tuned out my outhaul cleat had pulled through and with the force the adjustable outhaul slipped .... so with a little fiddling and kit preservation while swimming in the waves I managed to reset the outhaul and carry on.
With the little bit of north in the wind, there was a chill in the air, and will the prolonged swim I seemed to feel the cold a bit more than normal.
Didn't sail for as long as I'd have liked to, but sailed enough to appreciate that it's December, it was windy, and the sun was shining too .... and there were probably 20+ windsurfers on the water
